Purpose and Peace of Mind

Wayne Stewart Elder Law is now Stewart and Gordon

With over 40 years bringing top notch expertise to his clients, Wayne Stewart is turning over management of the practice to established attorney Chris Gordon. Wayne and Chris share a passion for counseling clients through potentially complex questions of estate planning and elder law in a friendly, approachable manner. In Chris’s time practicing nearly exclusively in this field, he’s served hundreds of Colorado families by helping them set up and administer their estates.

Chris will be managing the firm’s steady flow of new clients and be available to serve clients that have worked with Wayne for years. We’ll continue our expertise in elder law matters, estate planning, Medicaid, estate and trust administration and litigation, guardianships and conservatorships, and related matters. Wayne will be maintaining his license to practice and continue to serve clients, though for now, he’s taking a long-awaited sabbatical to participate in church service abroad with his wife.

Areas of Practice

Estate Planning

“Estate planning is an important and everlasting gift you can give your family. And setting up a smooth inheritance isn’t as hard as you might think.”

Suze Orman

We help families of all shapes and sizes assemble the right plan.

Medicaid and elder law matters

“Getting older is no problem. You just have to live long enough.”

Groucho Marx

Taking the uncertainty out of how to stay safe and provided for is part of our core as elder law specialists.

Estate and Trust Administration

“Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.”

Yogi Berra

We’ve been known to laugh and cry a little while helping families handle the affairs of their deceased loves ones.

Guardianships and Conservatorships

“When grace is joined with wrinkles, it is adorable. There is an unspeakable dawn in happy old age.”

Victor Hugo

If you need to walk through the probate system to care for your frail loved one, we’ll talk you through it.

Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser in fees, expenses, and waste of time. As a peacemaker, the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be enough business.
— Abraham Lincoln

Let's Chat.

Use the form below to contact us regarding your needs. Please be as detailed as possible. It is most helpful to describe your situation and what you want to accomplish. (“I am in my second marriage, own a home, and want to understand how to provide for my spouse and my children smoothly,” is more useful than “How much for a will and a postnuptial agreement?”)

You may also email or call us to make an appointment.
